Video Blogs-Flipped Learning


Flipped Learning is a fantastic way to learn at your own speed. Watch these videos and learn as my students did. Each video is shot by one of them and was used to teach students from all background and learning abilities. 

The development of these video stems for working with a specialised speak and language school in Kent. This system of learning was then used to engage with millennials using social media as the main driver. It worked well and the project was able to film in London's top kitchens which proved a great success for London's Career College of Hospitality, Food and Enterprise.

We had a little fun with the students  when making this video. The challenge was for them all to make scones which formed part of the culinary test. 
The students all came from a speech and language specialist school. I would record the videos and upload to YouTube. The students would then be able to watch the video over and over. The teachers would use the videos in classes with the students throughout the week, reinforcing the lessons and skills. When it came to the practical lessons each student did very well.

Choux Pastry is a classic pastry skill that all chefs worth their salt should be able to do well. This video was created for students with a live audience of around 30 and filmed by one of the students.
